Aggregation Demo
(Australia wide vector layers):

This demo is accessing a CubeSTOR spatial data warehouse. There are three composite layers including the complete Cadastral framework and Road Network over the whole country. These large vector data sets have been 'Aggregated' or converted into multi-resolution raster layers. Consequently, these generalisations can be displayed at a consistent interactive response independant of the area of interest or volume of requested data.

As the user zooms in, they are in effect 'drilling down' through these aggregate layers transparently thus viewing different resolutions derived from the vector data as they go until they 'reach through' to the original vector data where only small portions are accessed from the geospatially indexed data warehouse (CubeSTOR). The user can build these aggregates using different styles for different different display scales.
