This application is directly accessing four Web Map Services located around the country:

Topo & Property - TerraPages P/L (Sydney)

Rainfall & Bathymetry - Department Environment & Heritage (Canberra)

Geology - Geoscience Australia (Canberra)

Current Weather - Bureau of Meterology (Victoria)

In this configuration the applications mustbe able to cater for variations in the remote WMS services such as supported image format, WMS version, supported Spatial Reference System (i.e. projections/datum), security and symbology options. A Cascading server can handle all these issues transparently enabling a simpler client application.
