(Orthophotography Imagery)
This demo is accessing over 200 GigaBytes of orthophotography imagery stored in a CubeSTOR, an Oracle-based spatial data warehouse. The imagery layer of over 200 scenes has been automatically converted into multi-resolution generalisations (Aggregates) of the imagery. These Aggregates are used to deliver consistent interactive web response times independant of the area of interest or the volume of requested data.
As the user zooms in, they are in effect 'drilling down' through these Aggregates transparently thus viewing different resolutions of the same data as they go until they 'reach through' to the original high resolution data.
